Why choose Stone Aesthetics?
Because nothing beats experience!
Prior to your appointment, we will invite you for a consultation to discuss the results you’re hoping to achieve from dermal fillers. Depending on your individual treatment plan, the procedure can last anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour.
Many clients visiting us for dermal fillers in Staffordshire opt to have several treatments at once, so more time may be needed if you are having cheeks filled at the same time as your lips, for example.
Your actual appointment will start by reviewing your treatment plan, and the injection points will then be marked out to show you how your results will be achieved. When you’re ready, we’ll sanitise the skin around the treatment areas to prepare them for the injections. Each injection is short, lasting a few seconds, and the amount of filler used will depend on your main objective.
The treatment technique will also vary depending on what you are looking to achieve from your dermal fillers. We are trained in both injections and cannula options, and also may sometimes add filler in places other than your area of concern if this will give the results you want.
Throughout the treatment, we’ll keep you fully informed about what we are doing and why, to ensure you’re as comfortable as possible.
You will be able to see your results immediately after the procedure. There may be some minimal swelling and redness at the injection points, which is normal and will subside fairly quickly. We will also brief you in full on any aftercare requirements.

Dermal fillers are injectables, which are usually made from the naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. These are either used to fill an area or to sculpt and define. We use reputable and certified filler brands at Stone Aesthetics such as Belotero and Neauvia,
Where can they be used?
Fillers can be used on the cheeks, lips, chin, jawline, tear troughs, marionette lines, nasolabial folds, smoker’s lines, nose and more.
Can I have fillers in more than one area at once?
Yes! Many patients opt for several treatments at the same time.
How long does it take?
This depends on your individual treatment plan, however it usually lasts between 30 minutes and an hour.
Do dermal fillers hurt?
Many patients find fillers more comfortable than expected, and our fillers contain anaesthetic to minimise discomfort. Our medical professionals are very skilled, and experienced, so you should only feel a slight sting during treatment.
How quickly will I see results?
Results are visible immediately after the procedure! There may be some redness or swelling around the injection points, however this subsides quickly.
How long do fillers last?
Dermal fillers are non-permanent, and results are usually visible for 6-18 months. You can discuss when to book top-ups when you visit for your appointment.
Do fillers stimulate collagen production?
Yes, several studies have suggested that fillers induce the formation of collagen, resulting in skin that looks fresher and younger for longer!
Are fillers safe?
Fillers are very safe when administered by an experienced and medically qualified practitioner. We only used our two approved filler brands, and our team of professionals have performed many treatments and regularly undertake training, so we can minimise the chances of side effects and create naturally beautiful results.
What can I expect after the treatment?
Swelling and redness should go down after one or two days. Some patients may also experience raised or inflamed skin and itchiness in this time. You will also need to pause exercise for 24 hours after the procedure, however you can eat and carry on other normal activities.
What’s the difference between fillers and anti-wrinkle injections?
Both of these are injectables, but anti-wrinkle injections relax muscle movement whereas fillers simply plump out and smooth fine lines and wrinkles. To discuss both of these treatments, you can book a no-obligation consultation with us.

As we age, we notice new prominent lines and folds on our skin, sunken cheeks, and unflattering jowls. Quality skincare products can fend off aging signs to some degree. However, deep wrinkles and a loss of volume in the midface area need a more direct approach.
Dermal fillers are the best solution for these skin concerns. They effectively smooth wrinkled skin, plump up hollow facial areas, and add volume to thinning lips.
Like most cosmetic treatments, dermal fillers may cause side effects. These are typically mild and resolve on their own, provided you follow certain aftercare recommendations.
Let’s take a look at what you should do after a dermal filler treatment to minimize the side effects and shorten their duration.
Dermal fillers provide immediate results, but it may take a few weeks for them to fully settle into place. Common side effects like swelling and bruising also need time to subside, after which you’ll be able to fully appreciate the results of the procedure.
The following 13 aftercare tips are simple but effective ways to prevent or reduce side effects.
There is usually minimal or no pain after a dermal filler treatment. You may feel itching or tenderness in the treated area. If the sensation is unpleasant, it is safe to use an over-the-counter pain reliever like acetaminophen to minimize pain and discomfort.
Blood-thinning medication like aspirin and ibuprofen may cause swelling and bruising. Avoid them for 24-48 hours after the treatment.
Bruising in the treated area is one of the most common dermal filler side effects. It may last a few weeks. Patient experience shows arnica helps in reducing bruising. It’s a plant-based product you can apply topically as a gel or lotion or take as a homeopathic pill. Arnica also alleviates swelling and pain.
Dermatologists recommend drinking plenty of water for several days after the procedure. Staying well hydrated aids in the natural healing process.
Cold compresses on the treated area alleviate swelling, minimize bruising, and ease discomfort. Apply them for 15 minutes every few hours.
Avoid vigorous physical activity like jogging and cardio exercises for 24-48 hours after treatment. Strenuous exercise increases the blood flow and may cause swelling and bruising. Also, avoid swimming because this type of exercise in combination with pool water may cause bruising and infection. Refrain from yoga, pilates, and other activities that require bending below the waist.
To ensure the maximum effectiveness of your dermal filler treatment, avoid exposure to heat and UV rays, including the sun, tanning beds, saunas, and hot wax.
Drinking alcohol increases circulation and may cause swelling and bruising. Avoid it for 24-48 hours after the treatment.
Refrain from touching the treated area for six hours. That includes pressing, massaging, rubbing, or picking on the treated area. You may gently massage the injection site only if you notice lumps forming.
Try to sleep on your back with your head elevated on an extra pillow for a few nights. This helps prevent blood pooling in the treated area.
Don’t schedule any facial treatments like facials, chemical peels, and laser therapy for two weeks after treatment because the fillers need time to settle and show their full effects.
For the first 24 hours, avoid skincare products with ingredients that may aggravate the treated area. These include alpha- and beta-hydroxy acids, retinoids, and vitamin C. Use mild cleansers and apply sunscreen if spending time outdoors. It’s best to avoid makeup for 24 hours, but if you must use makeup, apply it lightly.
Doctors recommend refraining from air travel for a week after a filler treatment because changes in cabin pressure may aggravate the side effects.
Dermal fillers are a fantastic way to get back a youthful look. They are quick, painless, and provide amazing results without surgery and downtime. Make sure you follow the right aftercare routine to take advantage of the treatment’s maximum results.
